Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Outpatient

Location: Freehold, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Work schedule: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (8:30 AM – 6:30 PM)
• No call, weekends, or holidays required
• Expected to manage at least 9 patient cases per day
• Adult outpatient setting with diagnoses including orthopedic conditions, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and gait/balance dysfunction
• Electronic medical record system experience (EPIC) required
• Scrub color: Any

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in New Jersey
• Minimum 2 years of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
• Experience in an outpatient setting
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check covering the past 7 years must be completed within 30 days of start date through a specified vendor
• Verification of highest education level required; transcripts/diplomas needed if schooling was completed outside the U.S.
• Physical exam or "Fit for Work" statement within 12 months of start, including weight, height, and blood pressure
• Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 30 days of start, using MRO process
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Positive MMR titer with booster if low
  • Positive Varicella titer with booster if low
  • Hepatitis B titer preferred; declination allowed
• Negative TB test (IGRA Quantaferon Gold or TSPOT) within 1 year of start; annual for ER and Microbiology Lab only
• Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (declinations not accepted)

Certifications and Competencies

• Annual continuing education units (CEUs) related to stroke care required (8 stroke contact hours including NIH Stroke Scale)
• Pass/fail dysrhythmia exam and medication/pharmacology competency exams required within 48 hours of confirmation (not applicable to non-clinical/allied workers)
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC may be required depending on unit assignment (not typically applicable for outpatient PT)

Documentation and Onboarding

• Two current professional references related to the position, from supervisors/managers within the last 2 years
• Employment application or resume required
• Skills checklist relevant to the position/unit required
• Work history verification for the past 2 years required (New Jersey candidates must have at least 1 year verified prior to start)
• Passport-style photo for badge issuance (headshot, shoulders up, no hats/masks/sunglasses, neutral background)
• Completion of facility-specific privacy, confidentiality, email access, and security access forms within 48 hours of signing

Additional Notes

• RTLS badge may be issued with a cost and attestation required
• Fit mask testing will be conducted on day 1 of the first scheduled shift
• Flu and COVID-19 vaccination policies are strictly enforced with no declinations accepted except approved exemptions
• Facility does not accept pending background checks; all must be completed before start
