Job Opportunity: Antepartum Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Antepartum Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience. Candidates must have completed at least one prior travel contract.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Kentucky
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Maternal-Newborn nursing, including Antepartum nursing
- Maternal-Newborn experience within the last year
- At least one completed travel contract
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels
- FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) certification
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- Competencies:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (required prior to start)
- Competency Exam (required prior to start)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (updated annually)
Background & Verification Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually
- Education verification matching specialty (transcript or diploma acceptable if verification unavailable)
- State license primary source verification
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- KY State Abuse Registry Check (if applicable)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
- Fit mask test annually (with waiver process for failed fit tests)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination acceptable for non-clinical only)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Baseline TB risk assessment within 90 days of start, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or IgG titer required; declinations not accepted
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer, series, or declination required
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or IgG titer required; declinations not accepted
- Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations not accepted
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required (1 for non-clinical candidates)
- Employment application required
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually (not required for non-clinical)
- Badge photo (shoulders up, solid light background)
Notes
- Driver’s license required if driving is a major job function
- Various facility-specific exemption forms for flu and COVID vaccines must be completed if applicable
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and NIH Stroke Certification may be required per specialty/unit
