Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
Location: Aurora, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position in a Level 1 Trauma Center with 41 Operating Rooms
- Shift: Days with various start times (including occasional floats to 08:45 and 10:45 starts)
- Weekend and On-Call Requirements: Yes (approx. 6 on-call shifts per 8-week schedule)
- Floating: Required within scope to other OR units at the facility
- Ratio: 1:1 patient care
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery experience in the OR (as Circulator, Scrub, or both)
- Level 1 or 2 trauma experience required
- Epic electronic health record experience required
- No first-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience required)

- Colorado OR Compact RN License

Key Requirements & Notes
- No rebooking allowed for resources who have completed a full year on assignment at this facility for at least one year
- Return to Office (RTO) days limited to 10 max, with blackout periods during specific dates in 2026
- Various background checks, education verifications, and health documents required (see below)
- Must meet all state and facility-specific compliance and credentialing requirements
Required Documentation & Compliance
- I9 or Attestation
- Driver’s License/State ID (clear copies front/back)
- E-Verify or Attestation
- Background Checks including 7-year history, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
- Physical Exam (within 1 year, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA)
- Fit Mask Test (annual, specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and Titers: TDAP, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu Seasonal Vaccination (or exemptions as applicable)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual)
- Drug Testing (within 30 days of start and annually)
- Color Blind Exam (Ishihara exam required prior to start)
- COVID vaccination proof or signed declination
- Employment history verification for last 3 years with explanations for gaps
- References: 2 from last 2 years, including one from last year, from charge RN, manager, or supervisor
- Skills checklist and competency exams (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, core competencies, OSHA) updated annually
- State-specific CAPS check (Colorado) within 60 days of start

- Candidates must confirm renewal plans for any certifications expiring within 90 days of assignment start
This position is ideal for experienced OR Registered Nurses with strong Cardio-Thoracic and trauma experience who have prior travel contract experience and meet the comprehensive credentialing and compliance requirements.
