Job Overview

• Travel/contract registered nurse role in Columbus, Ohio
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
• 36 hours per week
• Level III NICU care for neonates, including patients from 22 weeks gestation and above

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Proficiency in gastrointestinal feeding methods and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
• Expertise in IV therapy, including umbilical artery and vein catheter management

Experience / Clinical Background

• NICU Level III and Level IV experience
• Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Proficiency with gastrointestinal feeding methods and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
• Experience with infection control and IV therapy, including umbilical artery and vein catheter management

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide specialized neonatal care, including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and infectious disease management
• Manage respiratory support and ventilator settings
• Administer medications via Pyxis
• Perform arterial line management, central line care, and neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions
• Use SBAR communication with healthcare providers and families

Additional Notes

• Prior experience at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is given special consideration
• EKG competency exam is not required for this NICU RN role
