Critical Care ED Pharmacist

Role Overview

• Travel/contract pharmacy role in Fort Worth, Texas.
• Onsite in the ED or ICU.
• Shift options include evenings, swing shift, and potentially day shifts if rounding experience is present.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Texas pharmacist license.
• 1 year of pharmacist experience.
• Pharmacist experience within the last year.
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
• BCCCP or BCEMP.
• Experience with Epic.

Preferred

• Available 7 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend Code Blues, including traumatic arrests, and provide necessary medications.
• Attend Rapid Sequence Intubations and provide necessary medications.
• Attend Code Strokes, review patient profiles, make treatment recommendations, and mix fibrinolytics if warranted.
• Attend Code Sepsis, review patient profiles, make antibiotic recommendations, and mix necessary medications.
• Provide comprehensive pharmacy services for STAT orders in the ED and ICU.
• Monitor the EPIC verification queue for STAT orders and orders requiring clinical intervention or iVents.
• Perform drug utilization reviews, monitor for drug interactions, support formulary integrity, participate in antibiotic stewardship, provide pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring, and evaluate potential adverse drug events.
• Serve as a clinical resource for hospital staff.
