Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry

Location: Salem, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 4 patients


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit.
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.
  • Floating within scope of practice may be required, including to a nearby hospital.
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend (not greater than every other).
  • Block scheduling is not accommodated.
  • First-time travel nurses are accepted.
  • Local candidates and those with pending Oregon licenses are accepted.
  • Must have experience managing dysrhythmias, oxygen protocols, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care, isolation precautions/PPE, rapid response team activation, and computerized documentation.
  • Patient ratios: RN 1:4-6; CNA 1:6-13 (days), 1:10-13 (nights).

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon.
  • Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
  • Experience with non-invasive airway management.

Additional Requirements

  • Badge photo with white background required at least 8 days prior to start.
  • Completion of required HealthStream modules before start date.
  • Fit testing for masks must be completed onsite within the first week of starting.
  • Must comply with facility dress code and scrub color.
  • Must complete TB history screening form prior to start.
  • Must sign job description prior to start.

Notes

  • The client may cancel up to 1 shift per 4-week assignment, 2 shifts per 8-week assignment, and 3 shifts per 13-week assignment.
  • Requests for time off longer than 2 weeks require approval.
  • Guaranteed hours follow a 36-hour workweek rule.
  • Candidates must be able to float within their scope of practice as needed.
  • Prior travel experience is not required.
