Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry) - Night Shift

Location

Towson, Maryland

Employment Type

Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
Every other weekend required
Holiday shifts required as scheduled
Block scheduling not accommodated; special scheduling requests must be submitted at application

Patient Population & Unit Details

Adult and Geriatric patients
Medical-Surgical telemetry unit
Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
Common diagnoses: CHF, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, pancreatitis, amputations, small bowel obstruction, atrial fibrillation/dysrhythmias, cancer, palliative care
Procedures/Equipment: EKGs, cardiac drips (Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, Lasix - non-titratable within parameters), telemetry monitoring, IV pumps, oxygen, pulse oximetry, vital signs machines, sequential compression devices (SCDs), bed/chair alarms, chest tubes, Foley catheters
Floating required within specialty and to lower acuity units as needed
On-call not required

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (updated annually)
