Intensive Care Unit RN
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Schedule: 3x12-hour day shift
Contract length: 13 weeks
Hours: 36 per week
Role Summary
Provides direct patient care on the unit, including assessments, treatments, admissions/transfers/discharges, patient and family education, and care coordination. The role emphasizes holistic, evidence-based nursing practice and participation in quality improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure
- Intensive Care Unit nursing experience
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
- Carry out nursing therapies and procedures within scope of practice
- Educate patients and families
- Coordinate discharge planning and discharge teaching
- Delegate and oversee patient care tasks appropriately
- Participate in unit-based activities and quality improvement efforts
