Registered Nurse – LTAC MS/Telemetry (Night Shift)

Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:6
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Floating: May be required to float within scope to lower level of care based on critical staffing needs
  • Block scheduling: Not accommodated
  • Local candidates: Not accepted (must be outside 75-mile radius)
  • On-call: Required (2 on-call shifts OR 2 additional shifts every 6 weeks) including holiday coverage
  • Weekend shifts: As needed
  • Attendance policy: Missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may lead to contract review/cancellation
  • Must pass arrhythmia and medication tests on first day of orientation
  • Fit test may require shaving; failure to pass fit test results in non-compliance

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year
  • Experience in Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) settings
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Health and Compliance Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start; annual updates required
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity (2 vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption) for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B: Proof of vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
  • COVID-19: Two doses required or declination form
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31); mask required if declining
  • Drug screening within 90 days of start (10 panel including Oxycodone and Marijuana)
  • Respirator medical clearance within 1 year if respirator use is required

Background and Documentation

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually, covering all locations lived/worked
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
  • Education verification: Associates degree or higher required for RNs
  • Social Security card required if used for I9 verification
  • Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service
  • Employment application required
  • Two professional references within 1 year of start preferred

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must complete facility-specific documentation and compliance checklists prior to start
  • Photo for badge required (headshot on plain background)
  • Facility-specific TB risk assessment and symptom evaluation form required annually
  • Candidates will be allowed to test out of Epic system during orientation
  • Moderate sedation test may be required depending on unit assignment
