Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER (Night Shift)

Location: Wichita Falls, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule

  • Night shift options:
    • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
    • 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Alternating 36/48 hour schedule
  • Facility schedules 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience preferred
  • No first-time travelers accepted
  • Candidates with 2 years of experience may be considered if experience is in a high volume or trauma facility

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Current Registered Nurse license valid in Texas
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification - Required as applicable
  • Other certifications such as NRP, CHEMO, EFM, ENPC may be required as applicable

Required Background & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Background check within 1 year of start, including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide, and sex offender registry
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
  • E-Verify or attestation required

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (2-step PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot acceptable)
  • Required vaccinations or positive titers (or approved exemptions) for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required between October 1 and May 31; medical/religious exemptions subject to review)
  • COVID-19 vaccination documentation required
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant acceptable), plan for completion within 72 hours of contract signing

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references within 3 years of start
  • Resume or employment application required
  • Annual updates for skills checklist and orientation safety manual acknowledgment
  • Completion of facility-specific documents prior to start, including parking policy acknowledgment and orientation materials

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum of 1 year Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • PALS certification
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
  • Facility-specific exemptions for flu vaccine available but require submission and approval
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required as applicable by profession
