Job Opportunity: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - Travel/Contract

Position Details

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: No
• Floating: Required within scope to all hospital areas including labor and delivery
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Locals: Not accepted
• Local Radius: 60 miles

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including recent critical care experience within the last year
• Certifications required at start:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Copy of Driver’s License and Social Security Card
• Completed and accurate I-9 form with work eligibility attestation
• Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • Statewide and national criminal checks
  • Sex offender registry
  • International searches if applicable
• Drug screen: 10-panel urine drug test within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Physical exam: Initial and updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination form
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Medical/Religious Exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but highly preferred; vaccination records or declination form must be uploaded
• Respirator clearance: Annual medical clearance via RespSafety questionnaire required for all patient-facing staff

Orientation & Facility Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (approx. 4 hours) prior to start
• Submission of a clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance
• Signed agreements prior to start including:

  • Assignment Acknowledgment
  • Code of Conduct
  • Employee Confidentiality Agreement
  • HIPAA Confidentiality Agreement
  • Systems User Agreement
• User Access Request and Employee Information forms completed before start
• Must complete MINI orientation and acknowledgement

• No radiation badge required for this position
• Facility uses Epic for charting
• Free parking available
• Hurricane season (June-November) may require assignment to emergency response teams; avoid confirming new or extension contracts during peak months (August-September) if this is a concern

This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with critical care background seeking a night shift travel contract in South Carolina. Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be considered.
