Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per 12-hour rotation (18:30 - 7:00)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

• Provide respiratory care services primarily in the Emergency Department and Special Care Nursery.
• No requirement to float between units.
• Every 3rd weekend required.
• First-time travel therapists are not accepted.
• Local candidates within a 70-mile radius are not accepted.
• Travelers must shave to ensure proper mask seal for fit testing; use of personal PAPRs or CAPRs is not allowed.
• No on-call duties.
• May be required to participate in holiday and weekend rotations.
• Manager discretion on accommodating block schedules.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Negative drug screen within 12 months of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health.
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start.
• Fit mask testing onsite during first week of orientation; annual fit testing required.
• TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray within 5 years if prior positive.
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season.
• COVID vaccination series preferred but not mandatory.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (for new candidates).
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and compliance training prior to or during assignment.
• Background check within 12 months including SSN trace, 7-year county and nationwide search, sex offender search.
• Wisconsin BID form required for all candidates working in Wisconsin.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete and sign confidentiality, security agreements, and standards of ethical conduct prior to start.
• Post-start orientation checklists must be completed and submitted within the first week.
• References and skills checklist required as part of credentialing.
• Travelers must be prepared to serve in emergency and special care nursery settings; PICU/NICU experience is not mandatory but knowledge of neonatal/pediatric emergency care is essential.
• No floating between units required.
• No parking fees for employees.

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working night shifts in a trauma center environment and have the required pediatric/neonatal emergency certifications.
