Registered Nurse - Urology Clinic (Travel/Contract)

Location: Medford, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)


Job Overview

  • Role: Registered Nurse in an outpatient urology clinic
  • Focus on catheter skills: daily catheterization of males and females, suprapubic catheter changes
  • Patient diagnoses include prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, penile cancers, incontinence, BPH, erectile dysfunction, renal calculus, voiding dysfunction, overactive bladder, urinary retention, male UTI, circumcision, undescended testicles
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • No weekend or on-call requirements
  • No floating between units
  • Locals and first-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of clinic experience within the last year
  • Experience in urology nursing
  • Skilled and comfortable with repeated daily catheterization of both males and females, including catheter care

Certifications & Competencies

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation accepted)
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM, IV Certification, MAB, NIH Stroke, CPI) may be required depending on clinical track but are not mandatory for this role unless specified
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually)
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination accepted:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)

Background & Documentation

  • Government-issued photo ID and Social Security Card required
  • Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
  • Education verification required for nursing degree
  • NURSYS license verification required for all RNs
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
  • Skills checklist for urology nursing required and must be updated annually
  • Physical exam and immunization documentation must be current and uploaded

Additional Notes

  • No on-call or weekend shifts required
  • Locals accepted but not required
  • Pending Oregon RN license accepted if obtained before start
  • Travel experience is not required for this position
  • No floating between units expected
