Job Details

  • Unit: Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit
  • Shift: Nights
  • Days of the Week: Various
  • Total Staffed Beds: 36 (expanding soon to 51 beds)
  • Patient Population: Patients with blood cancers receiving chemotherapy, biotherapies, stem cell transplants, and CAR-T therapies
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 3-4:1
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Scrub Color: Navy
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, per unit needs
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Yes, within scope and between like units

Experience & Certification Requirements

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years acute care experience in BMT or hematology/oncology
  • First-time Travelers: Accepted if experience requirements are met
  • Certifications Required:
    • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Colorado or Compact RN License
    • Oncology Certification (ONC)

Time Off Restrictions

  • Maximum of 10 Return to Office (RTO) days approved
  • No RTO allowed during these periods:
    • March 14 – March 21, 2026
    • May 8 – May 11, 2026
    • May 21 – May 27, 2026
    • June 28 – July 9, 2026
  • Flexibility may be considered for harder-to-fill positions

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Identification: I9 or Attestation, Driver’s License/State ID (front/back clear copies)
  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year background check within 60 days of start (includes SSN trace, Colorado CBI, education verification, sex offender search, OFAC sanctions list)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 60 days of start
  • Education Verification: Accredited nursing school verification (CCNE or ACEN) or transcript/diploma
  • Licensure Verification: NURSYS verification within 60 days of start
  • Health Requirements:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA
    • Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (specific 3M masks required)
    • Immunizations and titers: TDAP (within 10 years), Negative TB test or chest X-ray, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
    • Drug testing within 30 days of start, updated annually
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific exemption during flu season
    • COVID vaccine documentation or signed declination
  • Competency Exams: Must be current within 1 year and updated annually, including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, core parts I-III, OSHA mandatory
  • Color Blindness: Ishihara exam required prior to start (online testing not accepted)
  • References: Two references from the last two years required, including one from the last year, from charge RN, manager, or supervisor
  • Employment History: Verification of last 3 years required, gaps over 30 days must be explained

  • Floating between similar units may be required to meet facility needs
  • Weekend shifts are required based on unit needs
