Registered Nurse (Surgery Department) - Travel Contract

Location: Kingman, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Job Overview

• Work in a 6-room Operating Room (OR) as a circulating nurse.
• Responsible for circulating cases and taking call.
• Exposure to routine potential for blood, body fluids, or tissues.
• Expected to work 4-10 hour shifts.
• Must be able to collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and other clinical disciplines.
• Provide patient education and thorough documentation of nursing care.
• Maintain patient satisfaction through effective communication, bedside shift reports, hourly rounds, and use of evidence-based behaviors such as AIDET.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent (past 6 months) OR nursing experience.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate of a Nursing Diploma program (required).
• BSN preferred.
• Current, valid Arizona RN license or compact state RN license.
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• ACLS (AHA) certification required.
• Strong Meditech experience required.
• Basic EKG competency.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Additional Information

• 12 hours of non-billable orientation; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.
• Client enforces a 50-mile radius restriction and does not accept local candidates.
• Client may cancel up to one shift every two weeks.
• Housing options may be available (not detailed here).
• Candidates should disclose any required time off during the assignment.
• This is a travel contract position; prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Implement nursing care based on nursing diagnoses, patient care standards, and therapies from other disciplines.
• Prioritize nursing care based on patient’s immediate condition.
• Evaluate patient progress and revise care plans as needed.
• Document all aspects of patient care clearly and thoroughly, including admission, assessments, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Engage patients and families appropriately according to patient age and condition.

Work Environment

• Operating Room setting with exposure to blood and body fluids.
• 6-room OR suite.
• Day shift with 10-hour shifts, totaling 40 hours per week.
