Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
Med Surg experience
Telemetry experience
ACLS
NIHSS

Preferred Qualifications

Charge nurse experience, or willingness to consider it

Unit Details

40-bed unit
Patient ratio: 1:5 for Step-Down, 1:6 for MedSurg, and 1:5 when combined
Uses Baxter IV pumps
Documentation system: Cerner
Expected to float to other units within skill set

Schedule

Every other weekend
No call
Assist with holidays

Work Environment

Fast-paced, quick-turnover unit focused on ED decompression and throughput
Clinical Decision/Direct Admit Unit receiving admitted patients from the ED
Wide variety of diagnoses
Minimal bedside procedures
Teamwork and a positive attitude are emphasized

Dress Code

Navy blue and/or white scrubs
No t-shirts
Navy or white jacket/sweater allowed if needed
