Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel Assignment)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit & Work Environment

• Unit: Neuroscience ICU (NSICU), 12 beds
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Equipment: Baxter pumps
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Floating Policy: Travelers float first to other ICUs or to step-down units
• Scheduling: Self-schedule with 6 weekend shifts required per scheduling period
• Dress Code: Navy Blue uniform

Patient Population & Care Focus

• Neurology-experienced ICU nurses preferred
• Care of neurology patients post-thrombectomy and TPA administration
• Care of post-neurosurgery patients
• Procedures performed on unit include:

  • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
  • Bedside External Ventricular Drains (EVDs)
  • Arterial line (A-line) monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications required:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
