Title: Surgical Technologist
Location: Grafton Wisconsin 53024
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 8hr Day Shift (40)
Shift Information: 1100-1930 M-F
Clinical Interviewing- Yes, with manager approval to offer
On Call, Call Back Requirements: one weeknight every 2-3 weeks and one weekend every 2 months
Weekend Rotation: On call every 2 months
Holiday Requirements: 1 per contract
Floating Requirements: Ortho and Main OR
About Facility:
- Level III Trauma Center
- Level II NICU
- Primary Stroke Center
- Beds: 167
Unit Information:
- Beds: 14 OR Suites
- Census: Average patients/day: 40-50 cases per day
Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years
Will you accept a first-time traveler: Upon review
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- Orthopedics (total joints replacement, sports medicine, trauma, spine). Will also float and help cover general, plastics, GYN, vascular, urology, ENT, robotics, and GI.
Required License, National Certification, Certs
- RN: BLS
- Surg Tech: BLS
Skills required:
- For RN and Surg Tech: competent in above cases, competent in total joints
Support within the Department:
- Charge RN
- Management
- Surgeons
- Anesthesia Team
- Respiratory Therapy
- Hospitalists
Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: EPIC
- IV Pump: Alaris
- Med dispensing: Pyxis
Floating:
- Between Main OR, Ortho OR, and GI; travelers first to float
- Could also float to the Mayfair Surgery Center if necessary (about 20 minutes away)
Orientation (facility and unit) :
- NEO
- One shift in the department
Scheduling:
- Weekend rotation: dependent on requisition
- On call: Yes
- One weeknight every 2-3 weeks
- One weekend every 2 months
- 30-minute response time
- Holiday Expectations: 1 holiday (if applicable)
- Approval of RTO: Ok to approve 7 days off
- Shift times: dependent on requisition
- Schedule cycle: Charge RN will make the schedule in 8-week increments
