PICU
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Anchorage, Alaska
- Start date: ASAP
- 13-week contract
- Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:00
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Schedule
- Every other weekend
- Block scheduling is available
Float / Assignment Scope
- May float within scope to NICU and Peds
- Travelers may be assigned PICU-trained nurses with an orientee for PICU assignments
Unit Details
- Pediatric floor ratios: 1:4
- PICU ratio: 1:2
- Ventilated patients are usually 1:1
- No pod structure
- CNAs and a med clerk provide support
- Charge nurse typically has no patients
Additional Notes
- On-call is not required
- Local candidates are not accepted within 100 miles
- Guaranteed hours: up to 36 hours
- Cerner charting
- Navy scrubs; L&D/OR scrubs are provided
- No cost parking
