Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU night shift position requiring 2+ years of current NICU experience and RRT certification.
Details
- Work in the NICU within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics department
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 07:00
- 13-week assignment length
- Travelers are required to float within scope
- Epic charting system experience required, with a test-out option available
Requirements
- Associate's Degree from an accredited college
- Minimum 2 years of current NICU respiratory therapy experience
- RRT certification through the National Board for Respiratory Care
- NRP certification required
- BLS certification required
- State of Maryland RCP license or license eligibility required if applicable
- One professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Administer medical gas therapy per department procedures
- Evaluate therapy appropriateness and effectiveness in collaboration with advanced practitioners and clinical specialists
- Review patient charts including orders, lab values, and chest x-rays, documenting care accurately per department standards
- Operate and maintain equipment safely and sanitarily per department guidelines
- Monitor patients during therapy for adverse reactions and respond per policy
- Exposure to blood-borne pathogens should be expected
- Medium lifting physical demands required
- First-time travelers may be considered
- No mile radius rule in place
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Former employees must wait 6 months to return as a traveler, with case-by-case review possible within 1 year
- No more than 10 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract, with no RTO preferred during the first week
- Additional RTO beyond one week preferred to be scheduled at the end of the contract
