Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit night shift role requiring 2 years of acute PCU experience and ACLS/NIHSS certification.
Details
- Work in a 48-bed Cardiac PCU within a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Patient population includes cardiac diagnoses such as PCI and pacemakers
- Common medications administered include Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin
- RN must read telemetry and titrate medications accordingly
- Performs IV therapy, PCA, feeding tube care, wound vac management, CBI, trach care, and central line care
- Uses Epic EMR
- Night shift schedule from 18:45-07:15, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)
- Required to work every other weekend per unit need
- ANM support provided on unit
Requirements
- Active RN license (KY or compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Epic EMR experience required

- Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient plans of care
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and supports patient/family education
- Mentors and precepts staff while delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel
- Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement initiatives
- No local rate drop for candidates residing in the area
