Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department (ED)

Location: Lafayette, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30), 36 hours per week

Job Summary

• Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions according to state Board of Nursing standards.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care and health status through ongoing data collection.
• Provide health teaching, counseling, therapy, and treatment supportive of patient well-being.
• Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
• Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
• Document care in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• May float to other departments within competency and qualifications.
• May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nursing experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
