Description
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM. Contract options available for 36 or 48 hours per week. Contract lengths from 13 to 26 weeks accepted. Weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract. Floating required within facility.
Highlights:
- Specialized neurology unit focused on neurosurgical procedures and neurological diagnoses
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6, allowing for quality patient care
- EPIC charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Two orientation shifts on unit following hospital-based orientation
- 36-bed unit with daily census of approximately 36 patients serving adult patient population
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
- BLS certification required
- ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Neurology experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
- Experience with telemetry, IV starts and maintenance, peripheral line management, CVA care, and non-invasive airway management
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Ability and willingness to serve on Storm Team/Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events or disasters as needed
