Unit Information

Location: Nashua, NH

• Number of Beds: 10 procedure rooms, 1 trauma room
• Number of Staff: 12
• Patient Ratios: 5:1 (flexible with trauma room usage)
• Type of Equipment: U/S, IV skills, Lucas Device, Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, Pyxis
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech Expanse
• Patient Population: Patients with multiple comorbidities, complicated heart conditions, DKA, Sepsis, Trauma, Stroke

Role Responsibilities

RNs will work with policy-written protocols based on chief complaints, which include:

• Trauma care
• Stroke care
• Laceration repair
• Orthopedic trauma
• U/S IV insertion
• IO insertion
• Eye exams
• EKG administration
• Psychiatric care
• Cardiopulmonary care

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• At least 2 years of emergency department experience for contract labor
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, MOAB, and TNCC for contract labor
• Strong communication skills with patients and peers
• Excellent assessment abilities
• Dependability and punctuality
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Sound understanding of medical terminology for department coordinators

Preferred Skills:

• At least 1 year of emergency department experience for hired staff
• Strong understanding of EKG interpretation

Dress Code

Scrub color/attire: No hooded shirts or sweatshirts (for safety reasons).

RNs are required to float to the main emergency department as needed.

Staff are expected to work every other weekend as part of the general schedule.
