Job Title
Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry, Float Pool
Location
Brighton, MA
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | 36 Hours per Week | Every Other Weekend | Every Other Holiday
Key Responsibilities
- Float across multiple acute care units including medical surgical, orthopedics, urology, neurology, GYN, cardiology/telemetry, surgery, and cardiothoracic, adapting quickly to varying unit needs and patient populations
- Independently read and interpret telemetry strips and manage patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring
- Manage titratable IV drips including nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and diltiazem infusions in an IMCU or step-down capacity on night shift
- Deliver direct patient care at an average ratio of 5:1 across units ranging from 16 to 32 beds
- Utilize Meditech for documentation and medication administration as required by unit workflows
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in Massachusetts or compact licensure eligibility
- Minimum 4 years of recent acute care experience
- Step-down or IMCU experience required for night shift placement
- Proficiency with Meditech and IV therapy management
- Must pass an on-site telemetry strip exam on Day 1 with a score of 84% or higher (two attempts permitted)
- At least one recent and successfully completed travel contract required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5 or more years of nursing experience
- Previous float pool experience strongly preferred
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records
