The Nurse Practitioner coordinates decision-making with the psychiatrist in assessing, diagnosing, and managing psychiatric patients. The Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans. The team includes psychiatrists, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, mental health technicians, social workers, therapists, and educators. Be able to establish empathy and a person-centered approach to patients.  Have the ability to recognize your own limitations and respond to challenging situations.  Skillfully work in a self-motivated and independent manner.  Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and patients.

Education: Completion of a Master’s Program (Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner) from an accredited school of nursing.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting.

Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Washington.

Additional Requirements: Comprehensive liability insurance and current CPR certification.

 <li>Initiates and completes a detailed patient assessment</li>
 <li>Initiates the order of laboratory tests, radiological examinations and other routine diagnostic procedures</li>
 <li>Diagnoses the actual or potential health problem or need, based upon an analysis of the data collected, and plans therapeutic intervention</li>
 <li>Orders and initiates appropriate medication, treatment, and consultation based upon an analysis of the data collected</li>
 <li>Orders or performs routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing (not involving tendons, arteries or nerves) wound care, venous and arterial blood draws, and managing simple conditions produced by infection, trauma or other disease processes</li>
 <li>Educates the patient regarding prescribed treatment and medication(s)</li>
 <li>The Nurse Practitioner reports to the supervising physician and Operations Manager Practice Management</li>
