What is a Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse?

Cardiac catheterization laboratory nurses deal solely with heart disease and defects and play a vital role in cardiac care. CCL nurses are specially trained to assist doctors and other members of the medical team with interventional, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures on patients with various heart conditions, which may include angioplasties, pacemaker implants, and stent placements. Because CCL nurses are among the most specialized registered nurses, their skills are in extremely high demand.

What certifications are commonly held by cath lab nurses?
