The Board Certified Emergency Medicine Pharmacist (BCEMP) certification is a professional credential offered by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) for pharmacists who specialize in emergency medicine. The BCEMP exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (25 unscored) that assess the pharmacist's knowledge and skills in emergency medicine pharmacy practice.
Topics include acute patient care, pharmacotherapy, toxicology, medication safety, and emergency preparedness.
Candidates can schedule their exams at over 200 Prometric test centers throughout the United States. Candidates should schedule an examination appointment once they receive the authorization to test email from BPS.
BPS and Prometric partnered to offer Live Remote Proctoring (LRP) for eligible candidates in the US, Australia, and Canada.

Completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or equivalent experience.
A minimum of four years of post-licensure pharmacy practice experience (with at least 50% of time spent in emergency medicine pharmacy activities) if not residency-trained.
