Beaumont Hospital - Troy

I work a Troy Beaumont in the ER. Ever since the merge, the up above does not care about you. You get maxed at 6 patients and could be on a resuscitation team at the same time, forcing you to leave behind those six patients. I once had 3 critical drips at the same time and got called to a trauma. Acute care patients get sent to a different area so most of the time your 6 patients are sick, can’t walk, etc. Doctors admit all lot of people that probably could go home. People stay for MRIs, non emergent consults. and just because they want to. Sometimes I feel more like a waitress that wipes butts more than a nurse.
