Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts with possible schedules: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM, or 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM 
• Weekend nights only schedule 
• Every other weekend requirement typically 
• One winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) and one summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day) required 
• No call or standby requirements 
• No floating requirements 
• Nurse to patient ratios variable, maximum 3-4:1 for short periods during peak times 
• Must reside within 50-mile radius 
• Preferably 3+ years of emergency department experience required 
• Prior travel experience preferred but not required 
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC 
• BSN not required 
• Gray scrubs provided by facility 
• 3-shift orientation with another nurse 
• EPIC charting system 
• Treat approximately 40 patients per day including abdominal pain, falls, chest pain, and pediatric cases (20% of volume) 
• Manage common drips including antibiotics, cardiac medications, Heparin, TPA, and insulin 
• Responsible for reading own cardiac monitor strips using Phillips monitors 
• Draw labs when starting IVs, phlebotomy also available 
• Transport patients for procedures as needed

This healthcare organization operates a state-certified Level III trauma center and Primary Stroke Center with comprehensive emergency services. The emergency department features 11 total beds including 2 triage beds, 2 trauma bays, and 7 additional beds, along with one dedicated psych/seclusion room with video monitoring. The facility maintains 24/7 staffing including board-certified emergency physicians, mid-level providers, respiratory therapy, security, and house supervision. The organization provides modern medical equipment and services with CT and MRI located adjacent to the emergency department and cath lab services available Monday through Friday.
