Responsibilities

The family liaison independently provides family care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation from admission through transfer or discharge. The Registered Nurse works with the interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based, high quality family/patient care and safety. The role is responsible for facilitating smooth and accurate flow of information to patients/family members from the Pre op area, PACU and Operating Room, surgeons, while maintaining confidentiality and privacy for all patients. Also serves as a patient/family advocate, using mediator approach whenever possible. Responsible to promote comfort and satisfaction among patients and families.

Requirements

* Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
* RN License with the Maryland Board of Nursing
* BLS CPR certification
* At least 2 years of current clinical experience in the perioperative setting.

Known as a Gynecologic Center of Excellence, our team of highly-skilled Registered Nurses in Inpatient Specialty Surgery independently provide acute care services to adult patients, with a focus on breast and plastic reconstruction, women's health specialties (gynecology), genitourinary, gastrointestinal, general surgery, ortho-spine, and other complex specialties.
