Pros
Patient ratios at times
Cons
Management; brand new and inexperienced nurses put in charge and management positions right out of nursing school; acuity level of patients not considered realistically in staffing and when making patient assignments to nurses; more experienced nurses are not treated with respect; VERY CLIQUEY; the new charge nurses and managers love to RL6 anything they can if they want you out of there or if you recognize their laziness, immature gossiping behavior, or find med errors or neglectful things regarding patient care. The “baby nurses” stick together to push out the more experienced nurses and are sycophants (aka “brown-nosers”). This is a small-town rural hospital where generations of families know one another. If you don’t have the right last name and actually “know” them then you’re not part of the clique. The new charge nurses will give you the worst patient assignments and not offer to help in any way.
