West Kendall Baptist Hospital features 133 private rooms and provides care for adult medical and surgical services, including a separate critical care unit. The Emergency Department can accommodate more than 70,000 visits annually. In November of 2020, the hospital broke ground on a four-story clinical expansion project that will add 35 emergency department treatment rooms, as well as 70 new observation/inpatient beds when it opens in early 2023. Surgical services are provided in four operating rooms, with room for future expansion. Endoscopy suites and diagnostic and imaging facilities are also available. The maternity floor for expectant mothers includes labor and delivery suites and dedicated C-section operating rooms within unit. The Family Medicine Center, located in the Medical Arts Building adjacent to the hospital, serves as the primary training ground for an accredited Family Medicine residency program developed in partnership with Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. The hospital supports a vision of West Kendall as a convenient central hub where area residents can live, work and play. Through its “Healthy West Kendall” initiative, the hospital encourages residents to achieve the goal of becoming the “Healthiest Community in Florida.”Details
