Local Contract Nurse RN - Acute Care

WCS Healthare is  seeking an experienced and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ER RN will provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while ensuring exceptional customer service and adherence to professional nursing standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong emergency nursing experience, excellent clinical judgment, and prior travel nursing experience.

Job Function:

• Shift: 36 hrs/ 3x12 Rotating.
• Manage the care of adult and/or pediatric patients with critical, life‑threatening conditions requiring rapid assessment and high‑intensity interventions.
• Provide emotional support, education, and clear communication to patients and families during emergency situations.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, recognizing when early intervention is needed.
• Prepare patients for surgery, imaging, and diagnostic procedures.
• Perform essential emergency procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, blood draws, and airway support (intubation  assistance).
• Maintain  accurate  and  timely  documentation in the EMR.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of ER travel nursing experience required
• Current Massachusetts RN License required
• BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification required
• Successful completion of:
  • Pharmacology Exam
  • Basic Arrhythmia Exam
• TNCC preferred
• ENPC preferred
• PALS preferred
• De-escalation Certification preferred
