RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with multiple start times available: 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, or 7:00 PM
• 11:00 AM shift is first to float and requires every other weekend
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• 3+ years of nursing experience required
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must complete all MyJourney modules prior to arrival with no exceptions
• Maximum 2 shifts for floor-specific orientation
• Work with approximately 270-320 patient visits per day, up to 350 on busy days
• 62 beds plus hallway beds and chairs
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry on Phillips equipment
• May hold ventilated patients while awaiting bed placement
• Work in pediatric zone for patients 0-12 years old when lower acuity
• Handle all diagnoses from minor to critical care including CVA, STEMI, sepsis
• Work with high volume of critical acuity patients and ICU admissions
• Holiday requirement: 2 out of 3 major holidays
• No call shifts required
• No floating between units

Facility:

This acute care medical center operates a high-volume emergency department that serves as both a STEMI receiving center and primary stroke center. The facility features a robust sepsis program and maintains an in-house cardiac catheterization lab with hybrid suite capabilities. The emergency department is divided into North and South sections with dedicated charge nurses for each area, and the facility supports extensive educational programs including paramedic and nursing students as well as nurse extern rotations.
