Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement with 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks
• Holiday coverage based on unit rotation and coverage needs
• Care for high acuity patients on Medical Telemetry unit (T5) with 30 beds
• Maintain 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Must have IV experience and be competent in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Required to read EKGs using Phillips telemetry system
• Manage patients with ventilator support including BiPap and CPap (patients must be independent)
• Common diagnoses include gynecological surgeries, pre-liver transplant, ESRD, cellulitis, pneumonia, diabetes, and DKA
• Experience approximately 1/3 patient turnover per day
• May float to any Med Surg/Telemetry floor as needed
• Complete 2-day floor-specific orientation
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail SIMs Lab on day 1 covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Use Cerner electronic medical record system
• Dress code requires navy scrubs, natural hair color, no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit testing
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Work within 50-mile radius requirement
