RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period (days: Saturday/Sunday, nights: Friday/Saturday)
• Must work one major and one minor holiday
• First to float to MedSurg Tele units B2C and B2D
• Maintain 1:4 patient ratio for both day and night shifts
• Care for 32-bed unit specializing in Ortho, Surgical, and Oncology patients
• 80% surgical patients, 20% oncology patients including JHACO certified knee and hip program
• Handle 8-10 elective knee/hip surgeries per week
• Treat urological, abdominal, Whipple, and women's surgeries (no OB/GYN)
• Must have telemetry experience and ability to read cardiac strips
• Required to titrate Amiodarone and Cardizem (down only)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required (within past 6 months)
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (2 attempts maximum)
• Pass/fail Sim Lab required on day one of orientation
• Cannot live within 50 miles of facility
• Must provide current driver's license upon submission
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Navy scrubs required
• Use GE monitors with central monitoring station
• Utilize Cerner charting system and Spectralink phones
• 2 shifts of floor-specific orientation provided
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
