RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Reports directly to the on-duty Nursing Supervisor and Charge Nurse
• Handle a wide spectrum of medical conditions, maladies, and injuries in the emergency department
• Must be able to multi-task efficiently to provide premium care to patients
• Assess and treat patients quickly, especially during onset of acute illness or trauma
• Assist the emergency room team leader and acute care nurse as directed
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
• Current California nursing license in good standing required
• 1 year experience as an Emergency Department nurse preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, and CPR
• NRP and TNCC required within one year of hire date
• Conduct individualized patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on immediate patient conditions
• Perform appropriate treatments as ordered by physician in accurate and timely manner
• Perform assigned tasks including EKGs, blood draws, IV starts, and maintain clean work areas
• Provide individualized patient and family education
• Document patient assessment findings and responses to nursing interventions
• Initiate emergency resuscitative measures according to appropriate protocols
• Adhere to dress code with neat and professional appearance
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work intermittently sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and walking
• Willingness to work beyond normal working hours when necessary
