Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week for three 12-hour shifts
• Medical Surgical Oncology unit caring for adult patients
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 on nights, 1:5 on days and weekends
• Weekend requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday for night shift)
• May float within scope to meet facility needs
• Required certifications: BCLS, NIH stroke scale, fire safety
• EPIC charting system experience required
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Skills required include accessing/managing ports, chemotherapy administration, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions, monitoring chemotherapy, PCA management, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry oncology, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Navy scrubs required
• 38 hours of orientation provided
• No on-call responsibilities
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• No locals accepted within 75-mile radius
• Pending license accepted

This acute care hospital features 233 staffed beds and operates a 28-room Medical-Oncology unit with two Comfort Care Suites dedicated to end-of-life patients. The facility specializes in caring for medical, surgical, and oncology patients with a daily census of approximately 19 patients. The hospital maintains modern equipment and provides comprehensive support services including unit secretaries and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
