Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Every other weekend requirement
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS
• No on-call responsibilities
• Will float within service line to meet facility needs
• No local candidates accepted - home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
• Pending license accepted
• Maximum 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
• Guaranteed hours provided
• Navy blue scrubs required
• EPIC charting system
• 36 hours of orientation
• Work on dual unit - PCU/Stepdown with floor side
• PCU ratios 2-3 patients, floor ratios usually 4 but can be 5 at times
• All nurses can work on either side of the unit
• Care for adult and geriatric patients
• 24 beds on unit
• Patient population includes lung transplant, lung surgeries, lobectomy, mass removal, wedge resection, bronchial sleeve, esophagectomy, hiatal hernia repair
• Special requirements: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry, manage and titrate cardiac drips, chest tubes
• Work with equipment including telemetry, epidural/PCU, IV drips, chest tubes, G/J tubes, tube feeding
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
