Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 36 guaranteed hours per week working in Progressive Care Unit
• Patient ratios of 1:3-5
• Every other weekend requirement
• Will float within service line before floating house-wide
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Telemetry or step-down experience required
• Must pass Relias EKG exam for interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Navy scrubs required
• Must be comfortable caring for lower acuity patients until unit fully transitions to PCU
• Care for patients with CHF, arrhythmias, acute coronary syndrome, heart valve disease, CAD, hypertensive crisis, chest pain, pacemaker/AICD malfunction, acute renal failure, LVAD patients, and cardiac surgery patients
• Perform procedures including cardiac catheterization support, pacemaker/AICD placement assistance, echocardiograms, stress tests, cardioversion/ablation support, and various cardiac interventions
• Manage special equipment including LVADs, chest tubes, temporary and permanent cardiac pacing, arterial pressure monitoring, tracheostomy care, and insulin infusions
• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations in a 20-bed unit with daily census of 19
• Maximum of 2 time-off requests allowed, no more than 40 hours (5 days) total during contract
• 36 hours of orientation provided
