Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work night shifts in 24-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU (TCV ICU)
• Available for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday schedule
• 2:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Serve patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacement/repair, heart transplantation, and lung transplantation
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including CAD, MI, valvular disease, heart failure, aortic aneurysm, lung cancer, and esophageal cancer
• Must have 2 years of experience with previous charge experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must adhere to facility float policy within scope of practice
• BSN preferred
• Virginia license required (pending acceptable but must have in-hand Wednesday before start date)
• Nursys verification required for submission
• Up to 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must be skilled in arterial line management, ventilator management, central line care, blood product administration, cardiac drip titration, and post-cardiac surgery care

The facility provides advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical services including heart and lung transplantation, complex valve procedures, and mechanical circulatory support. The unit features state-of-the-art equipment including ECMO, IABP, CRRT systems, and advanced monitoring capabilities, supported by interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and specialized cardiac care professionals.
