Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM for 13 weeks
• Patient ratio of 1:5 caring for adults and geriatrics with all emergency type diagnoses
• Every other weekend requirement
• Must be available to work every other holiday if needed
• Floating required within skillset
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Active New York Single State RN license required (NY is not Compact)
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Must have skills in IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting/maintaining IVs, IV vasopressors
• CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management experience required
• Experience with CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, TBI required
• Cardiac monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Emergency care experience including adult/pediatric ED, gunshot wounds, ortho trauma
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, triage, and pediatric spinal cord injury
• Work with special equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• RNs within 75 miles of facility not accepted
• First-time travelers accepted

This 528-bed acute care teaching facility features a state-of-the-art emergency department with a centralized layout for rapid patient care and advanced diagnostic technology. The facility is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The emergency department includes a dedicated pediatric ED, a discreet crisis intervention unit, and a trauma suite located steps from the ambulance entrance for immediate stabilization of critical patients. The hospital is affiliated with major healthcare networks and offers several specialized services with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams.
