Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 2 years of recent specialty experience required with no gap in employment greater than 90 days in the past year
• Travel experience required - first-time travelers not accepted
• 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for both day and night shifts
• Regular floating required between departments, units and facilities as needed
• Must have both Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license at time of submission
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience required
• 3 shifts guaranteed per 13 weeks with no more than 7 days RTO restrictions
• Required skills include: MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, rapid response/code team usage, feeding tube care, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), peripheral and PICC line management, IV starts and maintenance, epidural analgesia, PCA, surgical drains, chest tubes, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care/wound vac
• Care for patients post bariatric surgery, urology cases, hepatobiliary procedures, colorectal surgeries, and trauma patients
• Manage complex pain control methods including epidurals, PCAs, ketamine drips, and lidocaine infusions
• Handle patients with multiple drains and wound vacs
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• 2 references required from past year supervisors or charge nurses
• Pre-start Epic training modules and infusion pump/glucometer training required
