Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in Progressive Care Unit with 1:5 patient ratios
• 2 years of experience required, previous charge and teaching hospital experience preferred
• 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• Regular floating required between departments, units, and facilities including Med/Surg, Telemetry, Medical-Intermediate, and Emergency Department for inpatient holding
• Must hold both Kansas and Missouri nursing licenses or compact license
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• 3 guaranteed shifts per 13-week contract
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed
• Extensive skills required including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, post-cardiac procedures, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, cardiac drips titration, wound care, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including post-MI, cardiac catheterization, hemodialysis, CVA, and total joint replacements
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Complete pre-start EMR modules and specialty training including infusion pump and glucometer training
• Two references required from past year (one supervisor level or above)
• Locals within 75-mile radius not accepted

This healthcare facility operates a 31-bed Progressive Care Unit providing intermediate-level care between medical-surgical and intensive care services. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and specialized interpretation services. The organization utilizes Epic electronic health records and maintains modern equipment to support complex patient care needs across multiple service lines.
