Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts in a 26-bed acute care unit
• 36 or 48 hours per week scheduling available
• 13-week assignment length
• Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
• Patient ratio of 1:4, occasionally 1:5
• Must float to other acute care units per facility float policy
• 48-hour orientation required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Travel experience required with minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• BSN preferred
• Must have Virginia license in hand by Wednesday before start date
• Care for diverse patient population primarily comprised of General Surgery and Trauma patients
• Post-surgical patients make up 90% of unit census with remaining 10% medical diagnoses
• All rooms equipped with cardiac monitoring, capnography, and continuous pulse oximetry
• Work with patients from adolescent to geriatric age groups
• Daily census of 22 patients across 22 beds
• Must be skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, wound care, chest tube management, and various monitoring equipment
• Up to 40 hours of approved time off per 13-week contract

The facility features advanced monitoring capabilities in all patient rooms and maintains strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and specialized wound care services. The organization provides extensive support staff including monitor technicians for telemetry oversight, phlebotomy services, and inpatient wound care teams available seven days a week.
