Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in Progressive Care Unit with 1:5 patient ratio
• 2 years of nursing experience required, with previous charge and teaching hospital experience preferred
• 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• 3 guaranteed shifts per 13-week assignment
• Must float between all MSI units based on greatest need, including Emergency department for inpatient holding
• Required skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, post-cardiac procedures, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line management, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and wound care
• Experience required in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings
• Must have Kansas and Missouri nursing licenses or compact license
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• First-time travelers accepted
