Opportunity:

RN - CCU

Job Details:

• Work in cardiac medicine intensive care unit with rotating schedule
• 36 or 48 hours per week available for 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
• 2:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Must adhere to facility float policy within scope of practice
• Up to 40 hours maximum time off can be approved
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Epic charting system experience required
• 2 years of experience required
• Strong familiarity required with swan-ganz, vasoactive drips, arterial lines, advanced heart failure, and post-procedure care for STEMIs and TAVRs
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions including STEMI, NSTEMI, acute decompensated heart failure, myocardial infarction, post-resuscitation management, pulmonary hypertension, dysrhythmias, and valvular conditions
• Work with specialized equipment including CRRT, IVTM, thermodilution cardiac output, transvenous pacing, and intra-aortic balloon pumps
• BSN preferred
• Virginia license accepted if pending but must have license in-hand by Wednesday before start date
• References required
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions

This comprehensive medical center operates a specialized cardiac intensive care unit providing advanced care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. The facility features state-of-the-art cardiac care technology and is one of only two areas approved for IV prostacyclin infusions, requiring specialty training. The unit offers therapeutic hypothermia/intravascular temperature management and post-TAVR/TMVR patient care with interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
