Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work night shifts in a 24-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU (TCV ICU)
• Available for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday schedule
• Maximum 40 hours allowed for time off per 13-week contract
• 2:1 patient ratio for all shifts
• 24 hours of orientation required
• Must adhere to facility's float policy within scope of practice
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Epic charting experience required
• Virginia license required (pending licenses accepted but must be in-hand by Wednesday before start date)
• BSN preferred
• 2 years of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Care for patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacement/repair, heart transplantation, and lung transplantation
• Manage complex equipment including ECMO, IABP, ventilators, CRRT machines, PA catheters, and epicardial pacing
• Handle specialized procedures such as open chest resuscitation, bronchoscopy, TEE, cardioversion, and conscious sedation
• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Daily census averages 19 patients
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
