Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts in the 24-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
• 2:1 patient ratio maintained on all shifts
• Maximum 40 hours time off allowed per 13-week contract
• Must adhere to float policy within scope of practice
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Epic charting system experience required
• 2 years of experience required, previous charge experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Must have Virginia license in hand by Wednesday before start date
• Care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures
• Manage patients post-CABG, valve replacement/repair, heart and lung transplants
• Work with specialized equipment including ECMO, IABP, ventilators, CRRT, and PA catheters
• Perform procedures such as conscious sedation, cardioversion, and bronchoscopy
• Manage complex conditions including CAD, MI, valvular disease, and end-stage heart failure
• Daily census averages 19 patients with interdisciplinary support available
